Adonit Jot Classic

Son got an iPad. He was playing with it. One of the thing he does was drawing. With his finger. There went the dad asking him if it will be better with a pen like tool. But he was not keen on the idea.

So one day we were at an Apple store. And I started showing him the item. He was like.. "okay".. then I went, "which color you like?" Next I knew we were trying it on the iPad.

The color is red. Not sure why he choose this color. Nicely packed.

Compared to a normal pen.

There it goes without the cap on it. All made of metal/alloy, except for one part of plastic. 

I have try it without the plastic part and it won't worked. Oh.. it did surprised me. It can be used on android. Be careful, not to drop it. The tip did bend when mine rolled off the table. Manage to get it back to where it suppose to be. And it does roll easily. What I did was put on the rubber band around it. Yup, it is ugly. 

Good thing about it, smooth writing and drawing. And it comes in few colors.

Nex-5N + 16mm lens - Pouch

On purchase of this gadget, a camera pouch was bundled. It fits Nex-5N with a 18-55mm lens. But the camera will be loose if it is fitted with 16mm lens.

This has triggered me into innovation mode. Wanting to make a smaller and fitting pouch, off I went in search of materials. A soft thin sponge with cloth stick to it on one side, which happened to be a A4 thin pouch with a zip, that can fit an iPad. And thin foam which are available at book stationary store. With 2 items, thread and needle of I go creating one pouch with a zipper. What trigger me into this was the size of the original pouch which took up some space in my mini backpack.

As the camera also comes with a shoulder / neck strap, which I rate as cumbersome, no doubt it is useful. I would rather use a wrist loop just like those come with the compact camera that I had before, Canon S90. There on the table was a piece of nylon strap which was recently left there to rot. I was glad that it didn't went into the bin. With a few stitched the strap appeared and become a permanent to the camera.

These new accessories is home made which is not as good as those in the markets. Just because I like to do some handy work and this are the simple ones and also comes cheap. I had stitched my self another accessories to support my newly acquired camera pouch. Will put it up later.

Case for Canon S90 - WXD

I was hunting high (but not high enough) and low (but not low enough) for my Canon S90 case or pouch or bag. In the website, there are many brands with different design. It cracked me to find out, those cases with the design I like were not easily available in nearby shops.

I was at Low Yat trying my luck. Voila! Found one that fit my desire. As the case allow the cam to go in and out easily. It even have a small compartment for extra 1 or 2 SD card. The finishing is of high quality. Padding in the case is good.

As can be seen in the first picture, the side, near the mouth of the case has a part that gives some protection to the camera when the flap is closed.

On the second picture, the strap to the belt is using Velcro. The part with Velcro is long, it makes me feel secure with my camera at my hip. It maybe a bit difficult to detached it from the belt, without loosen the belt. But this is definitely better than some case, where one have to take out the belt half way to put the case on.

A sample shot, to indicate the length of the Velcro. Even looking at the photos, already tells me the quality of this case.

In the case is all orange color, just as it is displayed in the first picture.

At both side of case, there are ears attached to it. A shoulder strap is provided with this case. If one don't like to belt it, then hang it over one's shoulder.
