Waroeng Penyet

The last time I have tried Indonesian food was in Indonesia. This one is at The Curve. Seen this restaurant awhile back. Recently only have I been there. The Teh Botol is a drink formulated in Indonesia. When the first time I tasted it, it feels odd to me. Till now it is. Can't bring myself to describe it, I mean the taste of the tea.

I was there with my wife, so I made the order. Oh, the food is to be ordered at the counter. More like going to KFC or McDonald or fast food outlets. When I was there, the place is packed. No empty seat available. I was about to leave, a table got emptied. Taken the table, waitress and waiter came and went from the table. First the table was cleared. Then I was given a form and a menu. On receiving the form and menu, ooo... it feels like Oldtown Kopitiam. Then I started to read the menu and filled the form. Then I was sitting waiting for a waiter to serve me. Then only realised that I have to order at the counter. As the menu has written the self service word.

At the point of time I was alone. My wife was shopping. And I was thinking, how am I suppose to leave the table, without other customer taking over the table. At last, taken the risk.

At the counter, I was told the taufu, tempe and telor penyet is not available. So order the bakso penyet and ayam penyet. Later I added a siaomai. I am not able to share a photo on it as I was so eager to taste it. I was a bit disappointed as it does not taste as those I have taken in Jakarta. The penyet is a bit on the sweet side. The ayam penyet was not that crispy, much on the soft side. It does taste good no doubt. Just me being picky. Yup, not to forget the sambal come with the penyet tasted fresh.

Most likely I would try again on a day where there isn't so many people. Hoping it will taste different. And more toward the one I have tasted in Jakarta.

Swiss Garden, Lumut

I was there on holiday trip with families. Only there for one night. Arrived from Penang. Reason being there, children get to play water.

With a little help of GPS we managed to arrive this resort. It is quite deep in no where, especially for tourist. We almost lost the last turn, thanks to the beautiful evening sun which was glaring at us and made reading signboard difficult. The beach is not something to be happy about. As the sand has shells on it. The sea is "teh tarik" spilt. I didn't see many people went into it. Most of them chosen the swimming pool. I was there for a couple of hours with my son enjoying the sand scooping stuff.
There are quite a number of activities available. Canoeing, volley ball, archery, tennis, the rest I didn't checked. The room is nice minus the stuffy odour, as if the room is not being used for sometime.

One thing surprise me, is the buffet dinner in the building. Not much of choices, maybe due to less customers at the resort. There is another one at the sea side, which I didn't have a chance to try it out.

The morning breakfast, is adequate. Nasi lemak, fried mee, buns, bread butter, omelet, tea, coffee, fruit juice, fruits. It makes me fill up my stomach to the max.
Oh, they even provide a welcome drink.

PC Fair, KLCC

I was at the PC Fair today. My sole purpose was to get a glimpse of HTC HD2. The best part was I even get to fiddle with it. What surprise me was the size of the screen. With numbers I didn't get to visualize it. On paper it stated 4.3 inch. On the actual thing, it is huge. It is slim. I went gaga over it. But the price is the stopper. To top it, there is no stock available in Malaysia. Oh.. when is the price coming down?

HTC HD2... when do I get it

now now, this stuff is already in the market. Less than RM3K. It is still a big bomb. Wondering if there is any telco carries this phone, where the price is lower when bundle with their package. This is something I am crazy to have one but not crazy enough to cash it.

I guess I have to be strong not to get lure into having one... argghhh.. must find way to.. own it? I think I better get a try on it first. It may turn out not so hot to me..

Living in a cage

My neighbor house was broken in. It happens in the daylight. This is the recent trend, of robbery in daylight. The only good thing is no one is harmed.

This really makes me started to feel I am in my own cage which happens to be my house.

What irks me is the question, as to why they are doing this.

Is it that really bad in getting a decent job with a pay to survive? By robbing, does that makes them rich?

Arrghh... seems to me where ever I choose to live, it is definitely is cage. By saying this, it can even happens in the apartment or even a secure condominium.

Hmm... how about a housing area with security guard plus perimeter fencing? Arrghh.. a premium fees monthly. Really come to think about it, I am living in an unsafe world.

Arrgghh...

Almond Cake

Another yummy cake for my tummy. With slices of almond as topping. I call it Almond Cake. The baker can't tell the name of the cake. The baker only repeat the same question, "Is it nice?"

Hmm.. I am eating it.. definitely it is nice. My repetition of nice must be a way to convince her to continue baking. Some sort of mantra...

Case for Canon S90 - WXD

I was hunting high (but not high enough) and low (but not low enough) for my Canon S90 case or pouch or bag. In the website, there are many brands with different design. It cracked me to find out, those cases with the design I like were not easily available in nearby shops.

I was at Low Yat trying my luck. Voila! Found one that fit my desire. As the case allow the cam to go in and out easily. It even have a small compartment for extra 1 or 2 SD card. The finishing is of high quality. Padding in the case is good.

As can be seen in the first picture, the side, near the mouth of the case has a part that gives some protection to the camera when the flap is closed.

On the second picture, the strap to the belt is using Velcro. The part with Velcro is long, it makes me feel secure with my camera at my hip. It maybe a bit difficult to detached it from the belt, without loosen the belt. But this is definitely better than some case, where one have to take out the belt half way to put the case on.

A sample shot, to indicate the length of the Velcro. Even looking at the photos, already tells me the quality of this case.

In the case is all orange color, just as it is displayed in the first picture.

At both side of case, there are ears attached to it. A shoulder strap is provided with this case. If one don't like to belt it, then hang it over one's shoulder.

Here is a sample of case with the flap closed.

The details,
Brand: WXD, model no. SM98673
Found it at: All IT, Low Yat PLaza
Damage: RM26.00
Owner satifaction: Very happy with it.

At The Curve

Then we arrived at The Curve after romping Ikea. The place is quite empty especially at certain corners. The pic on the left is one of it. Can't tell if this is a good or bad. The good thing is I get a sit to rest my aging legs. Now a days the legs of mine is not willing to carry the weight on it. Hmm.. come to think of it, the round body on this pair of legs. It wants a break...

Near to where I lounge, is Metrojaya. I came out from this entrance to find a sit. While waiting for my little one to complete rampaging the toys. He is looking for ways to trick his mommy to allow him to take home a toy of his choice. Nah.. he did not succeed. "Will come again, bye", say him to this department.

Then ended at this corner of the building. Nearby is the children play area, the very reason I am there. While waiting, I was trying out the camera in a low lighted area. The area is surrounded by children shops. Toys, clothings and kids room where mommy is to accompany the kids. Hmm... I don't seems to remember there are sofas around.

This is the reason I am taking a seat. Just to watch him running, jumping, passing remarks and whatever else he did. This just makes me realized that he is growing up. I am still telling him, "Be careful, don't fall down" or "share share okay". For god sake, he is 3 years old, let him be.

At Ikea

Last week was at Ikea, as we went to check on some items. A small table for the kitchen (which ended in Ikea, as we can't decide), some utensils and my son play stuff. Was trying out the new camera. This building is The Curve. The area I am in has four building in close proximity. Namely Ikea, Ikano, The Curve, Cineleisure and Tesco. Oops! there is additional one building. So basically I can be there whole day.

Then off we go to the Ikea restaurant. A meatball and a mini fish bugger. Free coffee with Ikea credit card. A boxed orange juice. Been there few times. This time it change the sitting arrangement. One thing nice about this place is it has children area. If a child is not wanting to sit down quietly, the child can play in the mini playground.

It is nice to have Ikea to use the items they sell to decorate the dining area. From there one can visualize what it's like to have this setting for their dining. Floating lamp on the dining table. One thing for sure the night view and day view will different. So if one is interested in the night view, then a dinner in this restaurant will allow one to feel the ambiance.

Event at Pavillion, M-IFW 2009

I was at Pavilion last Friday 12 noon. As the photo above is the tag that lead me in to the camera podium. This is something out of experienced, as I can sit down. The sitting is the stairway to the concourse of Pavilion.

New compact cam

Got my new compact, Canon S90 on 2nd of November 2009. I was so excited that I swiped RM1500. Above is the sample photo from this new compact. It is as grainy as 1000D. This is really something handy and pocket able. The rest please search the net.

Let me put the bad news, my missus is not happy about it...

Canon 1000D @ iso1600

Here goes my 3 years old boy. I was curious how does my 1000D takes photo at the setting of ISO1600. Result is rainbow dots on the skin. Means noise in the photo. But if view at smaller size, it looks okay.

Why am I doing this? I am anticipating a new compact camera which happens to be having very good praises.

If I can get one unit of this new photo generator, I can compare the results. Will update when I get one of this compact camera (** cross finger **).

Muffin at USJ

Recently, I am getting to enjoy cakes and like. Above a orange flavored with poppy seeds muffin. It is yummy definitely, can't say otherwise. But the question was popped to me. "Does it taste like muffin?". I can't bring myself to remember what is the taste of muffin. Or more on the texture. If it does not taste like muffin then it can be taken as cupcake. The only feel I get from this muffin is soft and not dry texture. Maybe the word to be used is yummy. *smiling*... hmm.. I am waiting patiently for the next recipe...

The photo above is taken with ISO1600. The result is not clear or sharp. The photo is okay at a smaller print. If it is enlarge, it is not going to be everybody wish.

Base Jump at KL Tower

I was informed by SoohkInLens, there is going to be sky diving at KL tower yesterday. So the night before yesterday, I prepared my gears. One body 1000D and a lens 100-400mm.

I arrived at the usual car park area. From this very place, is the KL Tower. Wow.. a parachuter passing by. I was excited. Rushing to draw the canon from it case.

No jumper yet. So went shooting the pinnacle of KLCC.

Still no jumper, shoot the top of KL Tower.

Here goes my first photo of people coming down from the sky. No cropping here as I wanted to show the original value.

I was informed later by SoohkInLens, that I can be at the same level with those jumper before they start jumping. [Update: You can view the photos done by SoohkInLens here] Wanted very much to be there, but lacked of tools hampered my desired. I will go up next year to catch them closer.

More photos available for viewing at flickr.com [here].

Go Mobile Expo

I was at Go Mobile today. The only thing I can say is I am disappointed. I was expecting the main phone company to have special booth with new phones. More on going to launch phones. I was expecting to see a HTC HD2, since there is review on it already over the net.

I thought I was at Low Yat plaza. Which I am sure I am at KL Convention Center. The environment is more to bazaar. People approached me on various products. Now come to think of it, I realize that I was approached by credit card company which happens quite often in the shopping complex when I am passing the counter. I was confused as what is the expo about. Is it about phones? Maybe communication. As I was offered various broadband services.

I was looking to go around the expo to get a feel of various brand offered in the market. Where I can try out the various phone currently available and best the "coming soon" phones. I thought I can go around without being approached, but if I ever need to query there is someone there to answer. Oops.. it is just a dream.

The only good thing the product does have price discounted. Those who want to buy a phone do make your self available at this expo.

12 July 2009

Long time since the last I blog.. I guess the world does have a lot of bloggers. So if mine was not updated.. no one will notice.. hehehe.. Simply being no time and lazy, then this blog was ignored. Frankly speaking I forgotten I do have a blog. To many site to maintain, people like me tends to forget. I happen to be in Facebook, it appears to me that I have a blog which was abandoned. So I peak, then I wrote and it is not completed.

Started Flickr, it was a hot item for awhile, now it is abandoned. Must be old age catching with me. Abandoning is something happens recently to me, being many hobbies in life and no time for them all. Wow... while writing this I felt I am losing time, as I have other things I can do.. haiz.. time to sleep I guess.. My body is getting older, can't tolerate late night retirement...
